We offer HImalayan Salt Stone Massage. This is a specialized and therapeutic hot stone massage treatment that was developed and trademarked by Laurie Messina, LMT in Sarasota, Florida. Our massage therapist, Cynthia Given, studied and completed training directly under Messina.
Our HSSM sessions are up to two hours long and may be extended beyond two hours for established clients. This service is only available by appointment. If you are also scheduling a facial during your visit, we recommend scheduling your facial before your massage.
Full body sessions are at least 80 minutes. If you have focus areas, schedule longer than 80 minutes.
Our massage therapist, Cynthia Given, LMT, completed training in Himalayan Salt Stone Massage from the original developer of the Himalayan Salt Stone Massage™ therapy modality session in Sarasota, Florida.
Our full body Himalayan Salt Stone Massage™ relaxes clients as it assists in balancing the central nervous system.
This treatment is performed with hand-carved stones from Pakistan. The session combines Traditional Chinese Medicine, thermal therapy, salt therapy, reflexology, and as well as Western/Swedish massage therapy techniques.
This session integrates well with many other massage techniques. HSSM is gentle in nature, though your therapist may apply the heated salt stones and use them as tools to work in depth on your focus areas throughout your session.
The recipient of a Himalayan Salt Stone Massage should not shave or scrub his or her skin within 24 hours of receiving the therapy as stones are made of salt and are slightly abrasive.
As a client, your skin surface will be in contact with salt stones that have been heated to a comfortable level. When your therapist is massaging with the stone, it is warm. Some stones are placed on the body after use, and these stones will be removed after they cool to room temperature.
Some clients should not receive this session. Himalayan Salt Stone Massage is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent a disease. If you are currently under medical supervision, or are pregnant, it is recommended to consult your physician before use. Most physicians allow their patients to receive this therapy, and we are available at (618) 392-4400 if your practitioner would like to contact us before you schedule.
See you soon. New faces welcome!
