Cynthia Helps Runner Chris Nicholas Recover During His Trek Across America

Chris Nicholas from Pace Per Mile stopped in Olney yesterday on his cross-country run. He also stopped by for a massage from yours truly! 

He called his session "fantastic," but I call it necessary. He said he'll likely run a few hundred miles before his next massage session. Wow!

I was honored to assist Chris in recovering before his 40-mile run to Salem. Check out his interview with the Olney Daily Mail for more about his adventure. He told me just 265 runners have completed this cross-country run. He'll be #266!

• A note on recovery massage: it's the "sweet" spot for athletes to rest and recharge between events. If a massage is too light, deep adhesions often don't get adequately addressed... but if it's too deep, the body is too sore to perform the next day. Recovery massage is used by many amateur and nearly all professional athletes as part of a balanced self care regimen.

Most people never drive across the country, let alone run across it! Good skill to Chris as he travels through southern Illinois (and on to the Pacific Ocean!).
