2012 Winter Skin Tips 2 of 2

This is the second part of a two-part article related to winter skin. Part 1 addresses massage and spa treatments. Part 2 addresses at-home tips.

Recipe for winter skin:
  1. Begin with cold, dry winter air.
  2. Add steamy baths and showers.
  3. Repeat for several weeks.
Congratulations! You've got scaly winter skin. What's next?
  1. Drink an adequate amount of water.
  2. Moisturize: Oil-based or "night" creams form a protective layer, giving your skin more protection against the elements. Stay away from rich shea oil on the face, which can clog pores.
  3. Cynthia's tip: Eucerin cream! It's an affordable cream that's safe for almost every skin type. CVS and other drug stores keep it in stock.
  4. Seek a specialist: Even one visit can make a big difference! An esthetician or dermatologist can recommend products within your budget.
