Add Lavender For a Better Massage

Lavender has been my most popular massage cream since I opened in 2007. I offer unscented massage cream as well as several other varieties, but lavender remains a top pick for anyone who experiences stress, anxiety or sleep issues.

Why combine lavender with massage?
According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, "Clinical studies have found participants who received massage with lavender felt less anxious and more positive than participants who received massage alone." (full article)

Six options that I offer for a more relaxing massage:
  • heated massage table
  • massage techniques for deep relaxation
  • flannel sheets
  • lavender massage cream
  • customized massage music
  • complimentary aromatherapy
Aromatherapy: upon request, I use a light and relaxing aromatherapy mist in my treatment room. It's a naturally-derived spray called "Sweet Dreams" by Sweet Creek Herbs. If lavender and chamomile relax you, just wait until you're on the heated table for a relaxing massage!

=> Personal note: lavender baths are a ritual at my sister's house.
Her kids (3-year-old twins and a 9-year-old) don't wind down at bedtime. They wind way, way up. Since she started adding lavender to their bath/bedtime rituals, my sister has enjoyed a little slice of heavenly peace at the end of the day.

Note: it's okay to fall asleep on the massage table.

I'll wake you when it's time to go!

The most effective massage to aid with sleep issues is a 90 minute relaxation massage. Note: lavender is not safe for everyone. Cynthia also carries allergy-friendly supplies.
