3 FAQs about your first massage

If you've never had a massage, you might be curious about scheduling a session, disrobing and draping. Next week I'll introduce a new session: Euro-style. It combines Swedish massage therapy and steamed towel exfoliation. Until then, here are three FAQs (and answers):

1. Scheduling and Payment

My phone is not located in my massage office. You will never hear it ring during your session. You may leave a voicemail at (618) 392-3800 and I'll return your call between appointments. My clinic runs similarly to other medical offices. I may not accommodate a same-day appointment, but I can nearly always schedule within the week.

You may also choose to schedule online here. Payment is due at the time of your session (cash/debit/credit) or you may pay in advance by purchasing a gift certificate on my website.

2. Disrobing

After I show you the treatment area, I'll leave you to disrobe privately. Remove only the items of clothing you're comfortable removing. After a few minutes, I'll check back with you to make sure you're on the table (under the sheets and blanket). Your entire body is never exposed.

3. Draping

I respect your modesty. As a massage therapy student, I trained for days on proper draping techniques. Only the body part being massaged is uncovered. It is immediately re-covered afterwards. Hot natured? The facility has central air. Cold natured? I have a table warmer and several blankets. I also use a table warmer in the winter months.
