Here is a link to a March 2008 story. This woman's innocuous trip to a spa ended up very badly. This is why it's very important to find a trained, skilled, and professional massage therapist!

In the article, she recommends finding a massage therapist who has trained for over 500 hours in an accredited program. As a member of the organization she recommends, I can confidently recommend using the American Massage Therapy Association's "Find a Massage Therapist" search feature on the AMTA website.
